Templeton Common Historic District is since 1983 listed in National Historical Register which is the US official list of districts, sites, buildings, structures and objects that are significant for American history, architecture, archaeology, engineering and culture. Templeton Common Historic District with 30 buildings and three objects which are in private possession or owned by local government, covering an area of 350 acres was added to National Historical Register for its significance for American history and architecture. The district provides an unique insight in the history and architecture from the middle of the 18th century to the present days and is a museum of landscape of the 18th, 19th and the 20th centuries.
